Spreading the love

Izzys_valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to read and comment on my blogposts. What makes blogging such an enjoyable activity is hearing from people who share my passion for Chicago and its past.

After this sweet day of indulgence, I’ll be getting back to business. I’ve got another Chicago book giveaway lined up for tomorrow. Then I’ll be publishing a couple first-hand reports of life in Hollywood Park in the early days.

Also, I’d like to start an occasional series of posts featuring readers’ favorite Chicago memories, from the recent past or long ago. Mention a place or event you remember, interesting people you’ve come across in Chicago or general reflections on living here. Feel free write as little or as much as you wish. Whenever I get enough material, I’ll run them as a Readers Department post. Drop me a note via the contact form.

Jean, I’ve been recruiting her over the past year, hoping she’ll be a blogger eventually. She joins me on some explorations, takes photographs. She’s a child of the suburbs and I want her to know the city. We’;; be celebrating President’s Day at the Chicago History Museum. Hope all is well with Jack and you. It’s been warm enough to ride bikes here!

That’s great your daughter can easily contribute…and wants her artwork shown alongside with mom’s blog work. 🙂 Maybe it might inspire her to do some more stuff later.
