Hibbard School Celebrates 100 Years

Hibbard centennial

All Hibbard alumni are welcome to come back to their roots and remember golden times. A short program will feature alumni remembrances and a musical performance by a group of Hibbard students. The building will be open for tours and connecting with old friends. Stories, laughter and cherished memories guaranteed.
If you wish to make a donation to Hibbard now or in the future, funds will be used to replace auditorium seats and for other building needs!

Parking for the centennial event will be available in school’s north lot; school entrance off parking lot (Door 13) or main entrance on Sawyer

Hi Hubbard devotees. I just stumbled on the 100 Anniversary Announcement,. I graduated in 1955 and went to Von graduating in 1959. My 8th grade teacher was Mrs. Dolnick. Any news or pictures from the anniversary event?
    Cheers, Chuck Richman

Looking forward to this. Last time I was in the school was in 1964, while playing a RHS band concert for the kids there. After the concert I walked around the halls to see if I recognized anyone, and the only teacher I found there was my favorite, Mrs. Glatt. It was a wonderful experience to chat with her again after 10 years.

Lani Hall, Herb Alpert’s wife and fantastic singer (original lead singer with Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66) will be performing at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage this Saturday evening, and I’ve been trying to contact her to see if she if she and Herb could stay here for another week in order to attend this gathering. I hope she received the messages that I sent to her. She lived in Albany Park and attended Hibbard in the 1950s. In fact, she released an LP in 1982 entitled “Albany Park”.

    I remember the school yell:

    H I B B A R D
    Hibbard Penitiary!

But I don’t remember the school song.

I remember Mrs. Kurilla, bless her soul.

Won’t be there for the anniversary party; wish I were.

I know this is along shot… Does anyone have a 1948 Hibbard Herald? It was in Miss Nuddleman’s class. Someone wrote a story SIGN OF THE TIMES and it was about my parents buying the first tv that was not in an Albany Park bar. It mentions all kinds of shows including puppet shows, and I believe I gave my copy to Burr Tillstrom. If you do , could you scan iy for me. Thanks.

Sounds like fun! But it’s a long way off, and I can’t say yes or no for a while, as I’m involved in many other projects.

    It’s a definite maybe. 😉

That’s great, would of been fun to have a Halloween costume theme being so close to Halloween. Looking forward to looking back.

I would love to see a list of people who have responded that they are coming, along with the year they graduated.
